Heritage Timber Doors, Dorking
Client: Crooked Acre
The Problem
Historic buildings require careful consideration when implementing modern flood protection, as any alterations must preserve heritage value.
Crooked Acre, a Grade II listed building in Wescott, east of Dorking, Surrey, had timber doors and frames that had deteriorated due to recent flooding and the passage of time. Any replacements required approval from Historic England to ensure the property’s heritage appearance was maintained.
The Solution
M3 Floodtec supplied Kitemark™ certified, BS 851188 tested Accoya Timber Flood Doors as replacements.
These bespoke doors provided robust flood protection while respecting the building’s heritage character. The proposed solution was approved and signed off by Historic England, ensuring compliance with all heritage requirements.
