Sewage & Drainage Flood Protection

These sewage protection options help prevent contaminated water from entering buildings through drainage systems during flooding. By controlling backflow and managing excess water, this protects properties from damage, hygiene risks and a costly clean up.

Backwater Valve

The backwater valve is designed to help protect homes from flooding caused by wastewater backflow. It is suitable for use in a range of drainage systems, such as washing basins, kitchen sinks, shower trays and dishwashers.

Handles Everyday Wastewater

The 50mm backwater valve is designed to cope with hot wastewater and common household chemicals without affecting performance. This helps ensure reliable operation in kitchens, bathrooms and other everyday drainage systems.

Automatic Defence Against Wastewater Backflow

The 50mm backwater valve works automatically to help stop sewage or wastewater flowing back into your property through drainage pipes. This passive system activates during backflow conditions to help protect your home from flooding.

Inflatable Toilet Bung

This simple inflatable device is designed to minimise sewage backflow from inside the toilet during floods. The bung itself is a strong rubber band connected to a hose and includes a Schrader valve and a hand pump for ease of use.

Helps Block Sewage Backflow

The inflatable toilet bung fits into the toilet’s U-bend and inflates to create a seal inside the pipe. This helps reduce the risk of sewage flowing back into the toilet during flood conditions.

Strong Inflatable Seal with Controlled Pressure

The inflatable bag is made from durable uPVC. It expands to create a tight seal within the pipe. It can safely operate up to 1.5 bar inflation pressure and withstand back pressure up to 0.75 bar, helping give reliable and temporary protection.

Non Return Valve (160/110mm)

The 160mm / 110mm non-return valve is designed to help protect properties from sewage and wastewater backflow through drainage systems. It provides automatic protection while allowing normal drainage to flow freely.

Self Activating Internal Flap

The non-return valve uses a self-activating internal flap that remains open during normal drainage conditions. If water levels rise and backflow occurs, the flap automatically closes to help prevent sewage or wastewater from entering the property.

Designed for Reliable Drainage Performance

In normal operation, the valve stays open so wastewater can pass through the drainage system without restriction. It can be installed in main drains or branch pipes and is designed to be easy to inspect and look after if it gets blocked.

Pushfit Valve 110mm

This non return valve is a unique and robust solution which offers protection against sewage and water backflow. Our new and improved version features a stainless steel face and flap for enhanced strength and durability.

A Quick, Easy Installation

The pushfit valve is designed to fit directly into the drain pipe, making installation quick and straightforward without the need for specialist tools. This makes it a practical retrofit solution for protecting properties from sewage backflow.

Improved Flow and Strong Protection

The valve’s unique, funnel shaped body helps water flow smoothly through the valve during normal use. The unit also includes a reinforced plate and stainless steel components to help protect against pests and ensure long-lasting durability.

Puddle Pump Submersible

The puddle pump is a versatile choice to pump large and small amounts of water. It’s a compact design with precise vertical control. The dual-position outlet port allows the unit to be used either horizontally or vertically. This provides greater flexibility during installation and helps prevent pipes from bending or kinking.

Removes Water Quickly and Efficiently

The puddle pump can remove water down to just 1mm, helping clear both large flooded areas and small pools of water. It can pump up to 160 litres per minute, making it ideal for fast water removal.

Designed for Extended Operation

Built with a high-quality steel shaft and double mechanical seal, the pump is designed for extended operation. It also includes thermal protection with automatic reset to help keep the pump running safely during demanding conditions.

Sump and Pump System

The pump and sump system sits below the ground to pump water from underneath. It operates from a float switch for enhanced peace of mind.

Automatically Removes Water Before It Builds Up

The sump and pump system sits below ground level and automatically removes water that enters through the ground. The float switch activates the pump when water rises, allowing it to pump out up to 525 litres per minute.

External Installation Reduces Disruption

The sump and pump system can be installed outside the property and accessed through a manhole cover, making maintenance easy. This avoids internal building work such as cutting floor joists or creating access points from the inside.

Frequently Asked Questions

What causes sewage backflow during flooding?

Sewage backflow usually happens when drainage systems become overwhelmed during heavy rainfall or flooding. When pipes are unable to handle the volume of water, wastewater can flow backwards through drains and appliances inside the property.

Sewage protection products such as backwater valves and non-return valves help stop this by blocking reverse flow. This helps prevent contaminated water from entering buildings through toilets, sinks and drainage pipes.
