The Problem

Situated in the Hunslet area of Leeds and alongside the River Aire, this once derelict Victorian flax mill has undergone a sympathetic conversion blending in classic and contemporary styles to create an award winning development after 40 years of being empty.

Spread over 6 floors the ground floor is at risk as it is within the Flood zone of the river, so in keeping with the Leeds Flood Alleviation program, flood protection was a pre requisite for the developers, J M Construction, and this needed to be passive to protect the buildings future.

The Solution

M3 Floodtec secured the contract to provide 13 ground floor integrated flood screens combining Flood protection windows and Low Threshold door units doors all of which are manufactured to the latest British flood standard BS851188-2021.
