The Problem

Established in 1988, Chestnut Homes Ltd is a leading developer in Lincolnshire and the East Midlands, specialising in high-quality housing and apartments for first-time buyers.

During a large housing development at Heron Way, Boston, planning requirements mandated the incorporation of flood protection measures. The site falls within Environment Agency Flood Zone 3a, and the accompanying flood risk assessment presented several options for the developer to consider.

The Solution

Chestnut Homes Ltd chose to integrate flood-resilient measures and passive flood prevention into the properties. M3 Floodtec was appointed to supply and install flood doors and windows across the development.

The solution utilised the Defender range of Composite and UPVC flood doors, all BSI Kite-marked to BS 851188-1:2019 — the latest flood standard recognised by the Environment Agency. In addition to flood-resilient doors, M3 Floodtec also supplied non-flood doors, windows, and all cavity closures for ongoing developments, ensuring consistency and compliance across the scheme.
