Mr Bailey, East Riding
Client: Mr Bailey
The Problem
Located in East Yorkshire, this property suffered years of damp beneath the floorboards as heavy rainfall seeped into the floor void through open airbricks.
Poor drainage around the property prevented the ground from absorbing heavy rainfall, causing water to build up against the building walls and enter the underfloor void through the airbricks. Once inside, the slow evaporation of excess water caused persistent damp and threatened the lifespan of the timber flooring.
The Solution
As the building had several different sizes of airbrick, M3 Floodtec proposed deployable airbrick covers, each secured with two fixings per brick. The fixing bolt sleeves remain in place permanently once installed, allowing the covers to be quickly deployed in the event of heavy rain.
Works were completed in March 2021.
